Who killed Constant?
08.11.08 (12:28 pm) [edit]
Constant was a great guy. He turned up one day, knocking at our door, asking for a job. We looked at him and contemplated. He was a nice guy, but boy, was he green!
We told him that he could try some different jobs. See what he would like. Well, at first he was greeting the guests. They came in, and he nicely greeted them. Embarrasing though, when he responded in public chat on some naughty compliments that were given to him in IM.
A security officer maybe. Just making sure nobody gets harrased.
I think Constant was the first Security Officer to ban and eject himself time after time. That on itself can also be considered a work of art. But these skills are better used in an art centre.
He wanted to try the art of poledancing. And we let him... Let's just say that we really don't want to talk about that anymore. We learned a wise lesson there.
Disappointed, we had to let him go. And we hadn't seen him for some time.
Then this morning... When we opened up the doors... we already sensed something was different....wrong, even.
We found him there, laying on the ground, knife in his back. Ofcourse the police were at the crimescene fast and did what the normally do. Take fingerprints, pictures. Draw a chalkline, set up a do-not-cross line. And we had to answer questions, lots of questions.
And when everybody was gone, we just sat there. Looking at poor Constant.
He was in SL so short a time, and never found his 'calling'. It is so sad. Now he only was a victim, not to be touched.
Then, when I was looking at him closely, I thought I saw a blink of an eye...
Did Constant find his true calling after all?
Giving up on Second Life
07.31.08 (9:50 am) [edit]Some of us gave up on Second Life just a short while after they made an avatar. There can be various reasons for that. And others, like me, stayed, en we explored. We felt the need to have a home, to escape the ratrace that Second Life can also be. A safe haven. And it was maybe at that point that we got to fiddle with all the stuff we heard and read about. We decided to see where our qualities lay. Because, doing nothing ... well, that is kinda boring. I have been doing lots of stuff myself, explored here and there. But when I look back,it really is the people I met, who made my Second Life. And with this club we build, we meet more and more great people. Last week, not sure of I mentioned it before, we had a couple staying at our private beach, the Silver Feather. They just got married, and we always feel it an honour that they want to spend their time together on Amouresque. It is a special moment for someone, and if we can help to make that moment perfect, we'll do our best. It then is warming, to hear that people are so enthusiastic, that they want to write a positive review about the place. In short,w e are proud to have gotten our first official review! You can read about it at the following link. http://tsoenquirer.moonfruit.... Have fun reading, and awaiting your return at Amouresque! Keyser
Worth mentioning
07.28.08 (6:09 am) [edit]Just had a search on the internet. Since it is always nice to know how you're doing on the search, once in a while checking for your own name isn't that bad. And that counts as much for SL as it does for RL. And what we already knew, but slipped our minds, was that one of our ladies also had a photoshoot at the island. And ofcourse, we were very proud to stumble upon such a thing. So, to let you also enjoy that sight, the link to the internet address is included. http://www.ipernity.com/doc/2... And ofcourse, we'll also place the link in our bookmarks. Enjoy! Keyser
First signs of success
07.28.08 (5:47 am) [edit]The last weeks have been very exciting and busy. We had a grand opening off the new club, and by the looks of it, we made a right choice. It is one of the basics, and looking back, it is very simple. I do expect more of these things to follow. In that way, SL really is a different place, where you can get carried away. Big time, even. Usually you're not the creator and seller of the same product. And now I saw how it can make you blind. Fortunately, we have great discussions, which is making us both search for arguments. And that really helped with this decision. When we looked at it closely, we were able to see how our message was too diverse. That is not helping the product. Because the people jumping on our island are from different walks of life. And since we like meeting different kinds of people, we wanted to target the whole range of exciting new people, just purely give everybody a fantastic place to sit down at, to lounge, to enjoy. We now deliver the incoming guests exactly what they expect. And on top of that, people are still very enthusiastic about the approach we have in general that they are promoting our place by their own choice. What else could we want? Still we need to do some finetuning in general. There are some things we more clearly want to e mphasize. But I cannot go into detail on that one. That would spoil the surprise. And that is a shame. With the opening of our new club, we also met one of the best emoting and gracious burlesqian dancer in SL. Mystery Benelli. Her performance at the opening really had all the eyes focussed on her act. Alluring, exciting, suggestive, sexy.... just wonderfull. And we were very honoured that she wanted to stay at Amouresque. She has her own blogspot, and it is really worth a look. Look at the links and jump to her site. Well worth the look, and you'll see why we were so enthusiastic. As for now, time to work on new ideas concerning the club. Keyser
Reshaping
07.08.08 (1:21 am) [edit]After being open for a longer periof of time than it feels, we decided to sit back, take a glass of wine, some snacks and evaluate where we are standing at this point. What is th eclub doing, are we on our schedule on what we want to achieve and if not, what can we do to change that. Normal business procedure, so we started with the first question we needed to ask ourselves. Are we still having fun? And yes, that didn't take much time. We are still having fun!
When we look at the club and what has happened the last 1,5 months... we can easily say we achieved a lot. Our traffic went through the roof because of last event, the people involved all have fun and gladly take their friends over at Amouresque. So far so good.
We did talk to a lot of people, guests and employees. Both being there on the 'other' side, cold tell us very good how we are doing. And the things we heard, we are using to enhance the Amouresque experience.
Amouresque is very diverse, it has everthing you could possible want for an exciting night out. And that diversity is makig it difficult for to bring our message across. We simply want to tell to much. And that is why we decided to physically part the two most extreme aspects of the club. The escorting part and the specifically clubbing, louning part. It will help us to betetr bring our message across.
So equiped with shovels, hammer and nails, we started to build again. Reshaping and building.
Never a dull moment at Amouresque :)

Sun fun love = beach party!!!
06.30.08 (9:47 am) [edit]Another busy week gone by. A week, filled with enough excitement. We had our hostess return after a big conenction failure in her area, and forntunatley, we had two others joining us. Apart from that, three new ladies joined the club, and we are slowly but surely covering all the timezones. It was hard finding the right persons for the job, but thanks to a friend who looked for us as well, we really are getting high quality staff.
And that is exactly what we want. In the end, people attract people, and we did notice that immediately. So next to the advertising we're doing, we are also relying on people. Which is pretty obvious, because clubs need people...
The good part for us is, it is creating some room to breathe, to work on events and promoting the club further. And now we have this new event coming up! The sun fun love = beach party event. And this time we are getting everybody to the beach. There we have the hot gilrs and boys dancing and the possibility to go romantic on a raft. It wil be great, and even better then the last one. That is what we're aiming for.
So, when you feel like it, come on wedbnnesday july 2nd to our event. You can find it inworld under events.

*** Rockabilly meets Burlesque ***
06.23.08 (4:20 am) [edit]Yes! Our very first official event! We have been working in this one for some time. We really wanted it to be great. And I think we pulled it of.
Although we need some more experience with the events agenda at the SL website, we are getting a pretty good hang of it. Well, the organising in general, I mean. With all the exciting events going on all over SL, it is pretty hard to stand out. But with the proper lighting, some cool paraphernalia and the right amount of party vibes rushing through our veins, we got an exciting crowd coming in. Fortunately we have a great building working for us, so people could also enjoy some private moments together. Maybe some ancient memories rearing its head. The tunes were very suited for that! The 'happy days' were certainly here again. Well, let the pics speak for itself.
And ofcourse we had a price for the best man and woman. This we also wanted to do in style. A real icon from that time. We're giving away this fantastic Vespa (SL: Vispa) to the two winners who we will contact soon. I'm sure they will have the same amount of fun riding that great motorcycle as we had.I'm sorry to say we had to handpick two people since our contestboard was delayed in delivery, and couldn't make it in time for the party. Yes, even in SL there are logidstic problems!
Our next event will be with a hostess and a manager though. We really need them on the team. I promised Belice I'd drag one from the other clubs to our place, if by the time of the next event, we haven't found a good one. And if you as the reader of this blog knows someone or would want to apply yourself, please let us know!
For now, enjoy the pics!

The proposal...
06.15.08 (1:21 pm) [edit]Sometimes we are given a token of appreciation where you wouldn't expect it.
After our first week, in which we did manage to get an interesting high traffic rate, we also noticed that new people kept coming in, and that some guests are returning. The team is still very enthusiastic, and that reflects on its growing success.
Unfortunately we are not always able to be present at the club, although we really would like to. But still our employees keep their eyes open, and then sometimes see the most fabulous things.
Last night, a Amouresque Lady saw two people entering the dining room. And to top it, they sat down and had diner. Ofcourse after being welcomed by a Amouresque Gentleman. And since this was the first real time that a couple came to dine at the club, she kept an eye out to see if they would need something.
And it was after 10 minutes that she saw something fantastic happend. While talking to the guest she was dancing with, she saw from the corner of her eye that the man was getting up... walked over to the side where the lady was sitting... and got on his knees!
Ofcourse our Amouresque Lady, had her eyes wide open and repressed a shriek of surprise.
She immediately took out her camera and started to shoot pictures! This was the very first time that a couple choose Amouresque as the perfect place to propose! Afterwards she contacted the lucky couple, and we were allowed to post the pictures and their names on our blog.
So, Lottie Lubitsh and Merlin Wolfenhaut, on behalf of all the crew at Amouresque, we wish you everlasting love between the two of you! And if we can help you in any way with the wedding, please don't hesitate to contact us!

Launching
06.13.08 (6:56 am) [edit]The opening party was a success! We had people coming an going contineously. There was a nice atmosphere and we went on until the late hours. Luckily a lot of people took pictures, which gives everybody the opportunity to get a smile on their faces afterwards.
Time is running so fast, I cannot believe we already are a week further. In the meantime we have not been sitting still. On strategic places we have been placing ads, hopefully to draw in people. And the stats are showing an upward curve. Gadgets are things we both like playing with. And it has been helpful. My statistics gadget show an increase in visitors and our group is getting ever more full. Realy quite an achievement! And not something we could have done by ourselves. We're surrounded by people who do their best to help us make this thing to a success.
Belice bought a photostudio. A big investment, but we both are pretty strongheaded and have an exact image in our heads on how things should look. And for the ads, it is eventually better to do it ourselves. In general it is very hard for a creative to let other people take over certain aspects. And in our case, these are the ads. We wanted a certain 'feel' to it and it then is hard to see something else.
And that doesn't mean we always see eye to eye. We have had our differences of opinion about the ads. It also took us some time to get it right. And the result is very good. Good ads that are consistent with the concept and have a certain dynamic to it.
3.....2.....1...... we have lift off
06.05.08 (3:15 am) [edit]Haven't been able to write for some time. We have been so busy organising that we hardly had any time left for other stuff. Such as writing ...
But, we have made giant steps! After the impulsive party, we worked very hard on developing the club further. And it is amazing how many new ideas you get when you're creating things. We brainstormed on the club and sometimes fate really slips a good idea your way. Because after Belice was looking for some textures at the most famous place in SL for that, she found this fantastic feather. Looking at it, we really wanted to incorporate it into the club. It just had the right 'feel'. And when looking at the ad signs for the ladies and gentlemen, we saw how the feather would work so very good on the pictures. The ladies dressed in a very feathery dress, the gents with the feather as a corsage. Bulls eye!
At that time we were also interviewing lots of SL photographers. We really wanted the best and to reflect the feeling that we think the club breathes. BUt it is hard to get the feel that two very picky persons have and capture that in a photo. After some hard discussing and some almost tantrums (hey, we're very passionate about this!) , we decided we really had to do this part ourselves as well.
While taking pictures and discussing how the best composition would be, I really started to work on the logo. I had some ideas, but nothing realy stuck. Some nice fonts, and ... a feather.... The feather really bugged me for a while. As I like things to be clean, the feather was 'chaos' and very hard to incorporate into a decent, professional logo. But, as we skyped, and worked on ad and logo, it slowly grew a face. And at the end of the evening.... well... it was morning once again, we both got it! The ad was ready, with Belices eyes luring you in. And we had a fantastic logo, which fitted just right on all the places.
And now... we have picked a date and time for the official opening of the club. Tomorrow, friday june 6th. We'll be going 'live' as from 1 pm SLtime and 10 PM european time (what was that again in timezones???). We've placed ads all over SL and hope people will be able to find us. And if didn't already, search for Amouresque or request a taxi from Belice Benoir or yours truely, Keyser Jiagu.
Regards,
Keyser
Pre pre pre launch party
05.26.08 (8:31 am) [edit]Yesterday was great! We just had two friends coming over to lok at what we were building. Hearing them getting thrilled about the idea also fires up our enthusiasm. And since we had applied some great textures to the objects in stead of the ever so boring alignment textures, the club really got the look and feel we're aiming for. After discussing whether the tables would need a cloth on them or not (curiously it was a draw, the women wanted non cloth, the men cloth... ),we went to sit at the beach, louning in the fantastic new furniture we got. With a nice glass of wine, we enjoyed the sunset while we were talking to each other.
At a certain point, one girl started to dance and soon the other one followed. By that time they had an audience of three men, all three falling into silence, enjoying the view. But it got wilder and also the men started to dance, which really set the party going. Within no time everybody got their friends over and danced on the great dance tunes. This party lasted for about three hours, and it so great to se ehow everybody was ebnjoying themselves! We'll be having the pictures up soon, so you'll see the party getting on!
A perfect start of the week and also a sign that these parties will be continuing on a regular basis.
Keyser Jiagu
p.s. the discussion on the table is still open. Maybe you'd like to give us your opinion on whether we should have table cloth in the dining area or not.

Warning, aligning can cause shop urges!
05.23.08 (2:51 pm) [edit]Ofcourse, we should have known. While we were aligning, our attention was easily drawn by other, more exciting details. De roofs are a time consuming project on it own, they really make us see the glitsches in the design. So it is taking more time then expected. And ofcourse, your mind starts to wander.... "would this look good in the club.... and what if we would try to tweak....."
To make a long story short, we got some nice furniture for the club! The beach part is getting so reat already. We already made a great place to sit and lounge. And already some people have enjoyed seeing the sun set from a woody terrace. It really is looking Amouresque
Aligning just isn't something you can do with two people on one build. Everybody has different ways of aligning, and all are equally good. For Belice that is a blessing. She can now devote all her attention on the skyboxes that we need. And I noticed the specific sparkle i. her eyes... This woman is allowed to spend money and use all the prims she needs for it.
I already noticed I need to put my prim police hat on and lower her primmy enthusiasm at times ....
.... to be continued...

First signs of glamour
05.21.08 (5:51 am) [edit]The club itself is a place where people will have the opportunity to enjoy th efinfer things in their Second Life. Dining and dancing, having a realxing massage, or to chat with friends at the sight of a setting sun. And when you want to share this with someone, the club also has hostesses who are more then willing to accomodate you.
And it us funny to see how this news travels. We are only talking about this idea in public for about a week now, and the first people are coming by to have a quick look to see how things evolve and sometimes even to have an interview.
We already interviewed some promising people for a job here.
And we are hiring avatars. Or having a serious look at them. So if you're reading this, you might want to check us out and notify one of us. We're looking for a bouncer/ greeter, high classed male - and female escorts and club managers. And probably other vacancies will follow shortly.
But we do ask some specific charateristics.
- Your avatar looks very real, it has a class A skin.
- Your hair is detailed, preferable flex.
- Your clothes are detailed.
- Your attitude is positive and professional
- You have experience in SL for some time and also prefereably in the job you're applying for

Fun stuff and less
05.21.08 (5:33 am) [edit]It seems I lost my account information. I couldn't get at my blog again after I entered my information. That made me decide to find another place for the blog. It really is hard to find a good blogsite though. That the name would come back in a good way, was very important to me.
The building is progressing. The design has been made and we're both very happy with it. It really has become a beautyfull design. And I'm not tapping my own shoulder here, it was all Belice's doing. A really gifted lady. Consequently I offered to take on the less fun task, the aligning... Hmmm, really should learn to shut up at the right time.
But fortunately, it is coming to an end. The objects are nicely aligned, and now the alignment texture is just waiting to be fiddled with. Tonight I'm hoping to get that done and to have some pictures taken.
The two workers/ owners overseeing the project and exchanging ideas.

Starting to shape things....
Of first steps and namecalling
05.21.08 (5:13 am) [edit]Okay, today started out great. At 10 am I got an message on my PDA, 'your island is ready'. Hmmm, no more sleeping in for me today. I got up and switched on the 'puter. And yes, there it lay, shining in the sun, a perfectoy shaped, very clean sandy island. Green tops and a small pond in the middle.
Hmmm, I start to grin as I come to think how this peacefull place will harshly be disturbed once Belice will wake up and gets her hands on it. Slowly I'm thinking about the following steps we need to take to build this thing from scrap. I am very glad, that after we have been talking about this for some time, we now finaly are going forward with it. Our first name: Belkey, really wasn't that good. We needed a more catchy name. But to find one, it is harder then it appears.
Finally, last friday (may 16th), we had our 'end-brainstorm-session', so to speak. We both agreed on the 'feel'. The feel should be 'burlesque'. But to keep it enticing, exciting.... and romantic ... After some fiddling with words..... trying the 'esque' at every word, we went from burlesque to lovesque to... Amouresque! We both heard it, and went: 'wow'. So there you have it: Amouresque, our name to the club. It says it all. It is enticing, exciting, romantic, modern, contemporary, elegant... And those were the words we were looking for. To have that reflected in the name.
And to be honest, it IS a great name. We really laid a stone here.
We have begun!
05.21.08 (4:25 am) [edit]We're having this great idea. Starting a club in Second Life, but different from any other. Ofcourse, that is claimed by any club in SL and especially thiose starting up. 'We' by the way, is Belice Benoir & Keyser Jiagu. With our RL and SL experience combined, we have an exciting mix of Interior architecture, overall deisgn, marketing and international interests. What wil this blog try to accomplish? Hmmm, merely showing how we feel this club wil be growing to be the best and most classy club in the whole of SL! We'll be showing you pictures on the progress, and ofcourse, you're more then welcome to pay us a visit, and see how things are evolving. Here's our place
